So, here's the gang from the Yakuba (town hall). So, the end of the first week or so, I decided that I wanted to do something for everyone (plus people keep saying you're to give them gifts). I didn't want to get people a gift. So I made them lunch. Here's everyone eating the lunch. I made shrimp and bacon and spinach pasta, just like Mama used to make! ..and possibly still does.
Yup, doesn't that look tasty? They said it was a very Japanese taste, so I had to give out the recipe. Spices here cost an arm and a leg, and I hate the metric system.
Sakuraoka's Sports Festival. I talk about it here, so I won't go on in this space. Let it just be said that 1) I didn't ask for anyone to take my picture. In fact, I acted on the assumption that no one would, and I'd just be surrounded by poor-dressing Japanese people anyway, so it was all right to be seen in sweatpants. Obviously I was wrong. (there are more Sports Festival pictures, but they aren't to be shown here.) Plus, it rained, so my hair was all frizzy. Oh wait, it's always frizzy.
